Hello, my wife and I have been approved and got notice of action (I-797C) in mail May 23 (recieved date May 22). Online USCIS states our cards went into production June 13th and allow 30 days to recieve. We have not moved but will in mid August in order to begin work under OPT. We called USCIS service center on 1-800-375-5283 on 30th day and put in a trace on our cards. USCIS states case will be assigned within 30 days and then expect within 45 days to hear. This is impossible as we hope to begin work before that. I know that calls can be made to get permission to work as we are F-1 graduating Aug 8th BUT need the cards for our bank to approve financing.
Question - is there any way to make direct contact with someone who can tell us the card WAS mailed and provide confirmation. It is odd that regulkar mail delivers such a valuable, time consuming document.
Any comments would be helpful.

When a particular priority date becomes current in the next month's bulletin,say the July bulletin. Does USCIS start looking at the current cases once the July bulletin is issued or starts looking at them from July 1st.

Please help reactivate this group. We have 27 members on our group but it's hard to get 1 reply. We have successfully met two lawmakers recently and more such contacts are urgently needed. We received letter from USCIS NSC saying that our AP (incl. my spouse) were approved on 10/15/08. On 11/17/08 we received RFE on my spouse AP application for photos. My wife had already left for India (11/15/08) assuming that our AP was approved. Anyways.
My question - If NSC approves her AP application (again), which date will she have on her approved AP application (i.e will the date be still 10/15/08 OR after the RFE response for photos). Photos were received at the NSC on 11/26/08.
Is anyone in the same situation. Your input is much appreciated.

I have an approved I797 from last year qouta. I got a 221g when I went to stamping for my H1 visa. The 221g was regarding some documents which the employer had to provide. Subsequently I obtained a L2 visa and I am now in the US. I would now like to apply for a change of status to H1.In this regard I had the following question:
On my L2 I have applied for a EAD about 3 weeks ago. USCIS says that it could take upto 90 days to approve the same.During this time if I apply for a COS to H1, would it influence the decision making on the L2-EAD approval or they are completely separate processes?

Until we ask they don't give anything, I have been writing to Ombudsman, for this and have raised it on an Ombudsman call, but USCIS is just too much...
