Greetings,
First time poster, long time reader.
I recently received a RFE on my I-140 application for special registration (only apply for men born in the middle east). My attorney and I replied to the RFE letter explaining why I did not register for the requirement. It is been three months since they received my letter (as shown on the e-gov website). I still have not heard anything from USCIS. My status still reads 'RFE: Response Review'
My question is :
Do they always formally reply back to the applicant's RFE response and indicates whether they accepted it or not.? If so, will it be within the 4 month process time.?
Aprreciate any thoughts.

Hi!
I traveled to India and came back on 22nd Feb'2009. I am on EAD and travelled on AP.
At the immigration, I got I-94, which the officer stamped till Feb 21, 2010 (parolled until). However, my EAD is valid till (7th August,2010) 08/07/2010 (mm/dd/yyyy).I got my AP renewed till Dec'2010. Shall I be concerned about my I-94 till Feb21, 2010 (need to renew it?) or it doesn't matter as my AP is renewed and will renew my EAD 3 months before it expires? Pls answer.

They don't verify anything. They ask you to fill in a form I don't remember the form number. I remember they were asking your full name, SSN, Address in US, Country of citizenship, place of birth, your father's and mother's first name.

Yes IV recognizes this issue and that a lot of our members are suffering from it. We also recognize the cutoff date and how all new applicants will suffer from it. Please read my post in the funding drive thread. If you have questions on IV position or work, you can PM us. Thanks

You can do it yourself. Its easy with e-filing and so many (including yours truly) in this forum have done it. Check out this thread for more info:

Currently, I am working with software firm (not a contract work). My wife is re applying for H4 visa. she applied for h4 last year in Feb, i used to work with contracting firm then and refused under 214b(immigration intent). This time we are applying through attorney. Attorney have sent email thrice to Islamabad consulatein Pakistan stating that denial under 214(b) for H4 is not valid reason.
But no response from them.
However my wife is applying again and taking letter with her from attorney stating that reason was invliad.
I am wondering
1- Do we need to highlight the previous denial so much as she is applying on new h1B now
2- in any case, can they revoke and cancel my petition as if they do not find any valid reason to reject again.
I am looking forward to hear from you

I was recently on H1B and renewal/extension was denied. So I left promptly to go back to Canada to establish residence there and start working. Now I need to return to the USA to retrieve some personal belongings, wrap up my residence and bring a car back etc...
My question is, when I enter the USA for the first time after being denied H1B will I have a hard time and will they be reluctant for some reason to permit me to enter as a visitor? I can't see why they would but who knows???
My family is still in the US and I need to help to get them prepared to come back

If H4 uses EAD for work with 485 pending, and if the underlying I-140 gets rejected, will this make H4 holder be out of status? what are the options for H4 holder.
If I 140 is rejected then the EAD,AP and I 485 are rejected as well. If you have used EAD then ur H4 is no longer valid ! You will have to go out of the country and get H4 stamped.
So the recommendation is to keep H status alive till you get Greencard

IS the HDFC bank receipt number a 10 digit one? It has space for only 10 digits on the website while booking an appointment. My number has an 'A' before the 10 digits. When i enter just the 10 digits it says "Cast from string "undefined/undefined/undefined" to type 'Date' is not valid". 2 business days havent been completed yet (since the payment) and that might be one of the reasons but i am not sure yet. Anybody see this before?
Also, as i understand once this goes through, i will be able to fill in the details for the DS-156 and DS-157 automatically and dont need to go to any other site. Appreciate your insight

Need suggestion and advise. I recently moved to LA as i found a new job. I do have permanent home in chicago and i m planning to rent a place in LA. Do i need to call USCIS and update my address for I485 application? Is it ok to have my permanent address in chicago continue in I485 application? Please advise.
