Guys please send out these letters, It needs 20 minutes of your time & about $2 stamps. But it can really save us lot of time and anxiety, as, if it goes well with Rep. Zoe Lofgren or Senator Cornyn they can mandate USCIS to publish these statistics. Rep. Logfren has done this in the past(mandating USCIS & DOS) she may do it for us....

I am writing to you to express my sense of helplessness over the unpredictability of Visa Number allotment to various employment based category. I want to bring to your attention that it�s been nearly a �Decade� since we saw any meaningful Visa Date movement from year 2001 for EB-3 Green Card applicants from India.
It is important to know that despite of severe visa retrogression and random visa cutoff date movements, USICIS or DOS hasn�t released any official information on how many Adjustment of Status applications are pending at USCIS under various categories which leaves thousands of AOS(Adjustment of Status) applicants in complete darkness and dependent on guessing games by various Law firms.
A green card application requires enormous amount of efforts and money from the beneficiary and his/her employer. People who are waiting for 7-8 years now would have had already spent average $15,000-$20,000, in maintaining their statuses and keep the Green Card process going on. Being stuck in a green card process keeps us bonded with 1 employer, job type etc.
We need to know if there is any light at the end of the tunnel. We need to know for how long we have to live our life in limbo. If there is hope than we need to be patient and plan to live like that for another 1-2 years. But if there�s no light at the end of the tunnel than we need to move on with our careers and other family commitments. Only your office and USCIS can help us by releasing statistics on the number and categories of applications pending with USCIS people waiting in this category can plan their lives accordingly.
It will be a great help if DOS or USCIS could tell us about the number of AOS application pending at USCIS along with their Categories(EB-3, EB-2, EB-1) and chargeable country.
We have been waiting for a decade and continue to wait would it be reasonable to request you for some guidance with regards to the Visa allotment. I request your office to provide some statistics on home many Adjustment of Status applications are pending at USCIS.

IV Core,
What is IV's position on ammendents for people who have filed PERM only and have not filed I-140 yet.
There shall be an ammendement which allows these people to keep using old system(EB) to get their green card.
It is totally un-fair to null and void their application and get them into new point based systems and force them to face long delays.
Please let us know.

Just made an online contribution through my banks bill pay for $150.00. My handle should be part of the memo.
On a more important note:
WHY is the "Contact us" link SO hard to find?? I was required to put in the IV phone number and it took me more than 10 mins to find it. I highly suggest that the administrators put the contact link on the homepage itself.

Seems like there are more such cases - there is a news item on this topic yesterday on www.immigration-law.com with the title "10/23/2008: Increasing Customer Reports of Denial of AC-21 Ported I-485 Applications Without NOID by USCIS Upon Petitioner's Withdrawal of Approved I-140 Petitions"
Seems like they too dont know whether its related to untrained USCIS staff's mistake or some other issue.

For taxpyers, the amount of money will be "reduced" or " completely phased out" for individuals making adjusted gross income or more than $75K ( or more than $150 if married and filing jointly).
How about that?

I have been on a monthly contributions program that contributes every month to IV since JAN 2007. If this effort requires the money now, is there a way I can divert the monthly to this effort for the next 3 months. Or should I cancel my monthly contribution and just donate a lump sum for this effort?

This bill is purely on the theory of Common man vs politician
What is a politician?
Politician is a contaminated breed of Human species. Here's the difference.
When a common man see the problem, he tries to make a resolution and tries to make a permanent solution helping everyone.
Now what does a politician do.. he see a problem and think how can he pretend to get a resolution while trying to make use of the problem for his political advantage hurting everyone and even hurting who were not effected by that problem and then use the same cycle to resolve the residual problems of the so called "solution" for his gains.. and this goes on and on and on.
Moreover the worst part of the story is no matter where you go in this world, you will find this weed growing everywhere and there is no weed control chemicals to kill them and surprisingly common man is a fertilizer to grow it.

I just spoke with an Immigration Representative of my Senator. She knows me as I met her last year with my employer for my other issue.
She just informed me that we are (Not only we but whole Congress) shocked with un-precedent action of DOS/USCIS for July VB. Senator's Washington DC office is working on this issue including immediate legislative relief to Employment Based immigration. She is well aware of whole drama of July VB. I am going to call Washington DC Office as well.
I encourage every one call to their Senator and HR and speak with Immigration Representative. I think first time media and lawmakers have acknowledged the problem of Employment Based Immigration.

You people seem to be too nationalistic. Even with the comments about quotas. Affiirmative action with 52% of all seats being reserved based on caste? You call this fair?
OK, before you jump at me, and accuse me of being "you people", read my earlier post. I had a scholarship at Duke because my education from the 'garbage' college in India was deemed to be comparable to a 4.0 GPA here. As far as affirmative action is concerned, you have it here too.
